AFCI Policy re: Written Exam:
Passing mark is 75%. Any candidate who fails the written component of the AFCI Examination may repeat the failed exam ONCE. Each attempt must occur within one year of the failed exam. Any candidate who fails the written examination TWO (2) times shall be required to repeat the prerequisite courses (AA1 and AA2) at their own expense prior to retaking the written exam. Failure on the fourth attempt of the written exam (after retaking the required course work) permanently disqualifies the student from retaking the written exam.
AFCI Policy re: Practical Exam:
Passing mark is 75%. Failure of the practical portion of the exam may be followed by ONE more attempt at the practical (AFCI advises at least a three month waiting period for study purposes). Each attempt must be within one year of the failed exam. Failure on the second attempt of the practical exam, requires that the student repeat the prerequisite courses (AA1 and AA2) at their own expense, prior to retaking the practical exam. Failure on the fourth attempt (after retaking the required course work) permanently disqualifies the student from retaking the practical exam.
