3. AFCI Membership Policies
Eligibility Requirement
Applicants must provide proof of your credentials, e.g. a current copy of your College license registration card.
Persons meeting the criteria set out below are admitted to membership:
- Physicians, dentists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, TCM doctors, TCM practitioners, baccalaureate-level registered nurses, occupational therapists and naturopathic doctors, who have been licensed and are in good standing to practise in their health profession within any jurisdiction within Canada.
- Physicians, dentists, physiotherapists, chiropractors, acupuncturists, TCM doctors, TCM practitioners, baccalaureate-level registered nurses, occupational therapists and naturopathic doctors, who reside outside Canada and have been licensed and are in good standing to practise their health profession within the country where they reside and satisfy the Board of Directors or the Board’s Credentials Committee that they have received a health profession education equivalent to that held by their Canadian Counterparts.
Membership
Membership in AFCI is a requirement for taking AFCI courses, with the exception of AA1. After completion of AA1, participants must first register as a member of AFCI, prior to registering for AA2. Membership must be in place to be eligible to take any of the following courses.
Fees:
Fees are due and payable on or before February 1st of each year. A late penalty fee will be imposed on all renewal applications received after February 15th of $50.00 + GST/HST as applicable for each province. (Approved by the Board of Directors, January 2002.)
Retired Membership:
If you have reached 65 years the membership fee is $127.50 + GST/HST as applicable for each province.
The penalty will apply if payment made after February 15th.
For New Members Only:
If you are a new member note that effective August 1st of each year, the membership fee is pro-rated to half-year of the full membership fee.
